Aery 32
The AERY 32 program is used to design glider. The program takes into account its wing shape, weight, and other factors to test if the glider could fly if produced. The first image below shows the glider the program shows upon opening.
When tested, the plane above cannot fly. The program states the following as reasons:
there are two ways to make the plane able to fly: change the center of balance, which would make the plane able to fly but highly unstable, or add weight to the nose. The first method was attempted and the results are below:
This glider will fly, but the vertical stabilizer is still conditionally too large. The plane will fly better if the size was decreased. This method was attempted, method shown below:
The glider now shows no problem in flight and is considered ready for flight!
A third method to making the glider flight ready would be to change the wings' leading edge taper angle and to proportionally shrink the stabilizer. Results shown below:
